From August 2006 to November 2006 the “Social Technologies Centre” NGO carried out the “Generation of Independence” program together with the “Social Dialogue and Development Centre” NGO on the grant provided by the RA State Budget.
Brief description of the program
The main purpose of the program is to contribute to the close cooperation and constructive dialogue among the young people who have different political and ideological peculiarities and orientations for the welfare of our country and in order to increase the main achievements of our 15-year-old Republic.
Tours to different regions of Armenia entitled “Get to know your native country” were organized during the program. Different groups of students each composed of 30 participants from different universities visited Shirak, Syunik, Armavir, Tavush, Lori and Kotayk. T-shirts with the corresponding motto were made for the participants. About 300 young people participated in the program.
A intercollegiate conference “15-year-old independent Armenia, achievements, challenges and perspectives ” was organized by the “Social Technologies Centre” NGO and “Areg Scientific-Cultural Youth Association” NGO in the framework of the “Generation of Independence” program. The purpose of the conference was to encourage the aesthetic initiative of the students and to reveal the values of independence meanwhile conducting academic discussions. In the initial stage of the conference 26 participation applications together with theses reports were received from 8 universities based on which the competition committee selected 10 participants. The final stage of the conference was held in the large hall of “Tekeyan” Cultural Association which was also a competition. The reports were estimated by the competition committee and 6 money and 4 encouragement prizes were granted to the participants.

A booklet devoted to the 15th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia was published in the framework of the program in which the messages by the RA President, Prime Minister and the Chairman of the National Assembly, the main results of the visits as well as the best reports of the conference were presented. Both the local and regional mass media widely covered “The generation of Independence” program.
